Workshop 1:
Suitable for children’s ages 5-7.
Pick your own willow and make a crown.

Pick your own willow and make a magical fish.

Archaeology walk in the Connemara National Park

Archaeology walk in the Connemara National Park led by Helen Richstens and to include (weather permitting) a visit to the site of the original basket factory established in Letterfrack by Sophia Sturge in 1888.

Helen is a Connemara native with a particular interest in community archaeology.

Talk by Joan Johnson, author of ‘Sophia Sturge and the Connemara Basket Industry in Letterfrack 1888-1905’ and also author of  ‘James and Mary Ellis, Background and Quaker Famine Relief in Letterfrack‘. Both books delve into the Quaker heritage in Letterfrack and Joan has a wonderful way of making history come alive.
